What are high security locks I hear you ask? These locks are known as premium cylinder locks and are three star rated locks. This means that these locks comply with TS007 standards. These type of locks offer more security features than a regular barrel lock. Three star locks have anti-picking features as well as anti drill pins and anti-snap features. There are a large number of brand of high security cylinder locks such as ULTION, ABS & Yale Superior.

We also like to install Q-tech & green-tech security locks. ALl of our premium range locks are of TS007 british standard and will help protect your home against break ins. Perhaps you want to have the same key to use with all of your three star locks, in that case we can provide your locks as keyed alike. Paired alike locks work on a type of master keyed system whereby all locks can be used by the same key.

Are ABS Locks good?

ABS locks are a type of lock made by the avocet company. They are one of the best types of cylinder locks in our opinion and we frequently fit them. However they do come at a price. Avocet are one of the most expensive locks on the market in our opinion. If you are looking for a balance of quality and quality then perhaps Yale three star locks or even ultion locks could be a better option for you. For people with locks of money you could even get the EVVA cylinder lock with high security features.

What are ULTION locks

Ultion locks are a type of high security cylinder lock which is made by the brisant company. These locks offer anti picking mushroom pins as well as trap pins to protect against lock picking. With these keys you insert the key sideways into the lock and this is known as a dimply lock where the keyway is sideways as opposed to vertical. All three star locks contain the 3 star symbol on the front of the lock and often contain a kitemark symbol too.

If you are on a budget there are other types of three star lock which may not be quite as good in quality as other locks (in our opinion) yet still offer protection as a three star lock. A good type of budget three star lock could be the TSS cylinder lock which has many of the same features as an ABS lock at almost half the price.

Are three star locks anti snap?

Yes, anti-snapl locks are usually one step below three star locks. Regular snap resistant locks have the sacrificial snap point yet don’t have anti pick protection features inside like the three star locks. It’s safe to say then that if a lock is a three star TS007 lock then it will for certain have at least Anti snap features along with various other security features.
