Faulty Chubb Lock Repair

A common problem with chubb locks is that the levers inside can often seize up and jam. This results in a lock which will not work. We can often open the lock and repair the lock by fitting new levers inside. If the lock is too badly damaged then we may replace the whole lock instead as this can be more efficient. Chubb detainer locks are old and don’t exist as a brand anymore, at least they are not manufactured any more. The chubb brand has now been taken over by the Union company, As a professional locksmith we fully trained in dealing with chubb lock repair & replacement. We can replace the detainers inside the mortice lock with new.

Some common chubb locks on the market are chubb 3G110 & 3G114 which are recognisable by their grey colour. This is how we know that the lock is a chubb lock. Chubb locks come in both 5 lever & 7 lever deadlocks. There are also various brands of padlocks which we can also repair.

Broken Chubb Lock

Seen as chubb locks are an old brand of lock its a fact that they often break. Because of this we have learned how to repair them. Some people want us to install new chubb locks however this isn’t actually possible as chubb locks don’t exist anymore as a brand. Instead we can install Union deadlocks which are essentially the same inside but a different colour.

Recently we replaced a lock for somebody in the Burley LS4 area of Leeds who insisted that the chubb company still made locks. However are a great deal of persuasion they realized that they didn’t.

Chubb Padlock Repair

Has your chubb padlock seized up and not opening? Or perhaps the key has broken and is stuck in the lock. This probably means that the padlock is rusted and damaged inside. We can fix the chubb padlock or at least replace it with a new one. A popular lock we like to replace is the chubb hercules lock which is of exception quality. We also repair chubb euro cylinders too. Some chubb padlocks don’t use a key, instead they use a combination code to open the lock. Just like all locks these can also break over time and need replacing.

Chubb manifoil locks are a rarer type of lock however they are still around out there and we do come across them. The chubb company was founded by Mr charles chubb who was born in England, UK. His brother Jeremiah Chubb also joined the company in 1804 who helped grow the company to great success. Some famous events of the chubb company are when the brothers designed a display case for the koh-i-noor display. The chubb company now belongs to the assa abloy company which own a host of other lock brands.
