Andy responded quickly to our message and arrived when he said he would on Sunday to try to fix our door. Due to age and trickiness (we have had a few people to tend to it over the years)he had to return today. He arrived at the time he said he would and persevered patiently with our tricky door, replacing the lock mechanism and working on the door so that it opens better now than when it was first fitted a good few years ago. He was polite, profressional and clearly had a lot of knowledge. I definitely recommend him.

Alarm and CCTV Fitting

What are alarms and CCTV systems and how do they improve security?

As a locksmith, we understand the importance of security for both residential and commercial properties. One of the most effective ways to enhance security is by installing alarms and Alarm and cctv fitting systems. But what are these systems, and how do they work together to provide optimal security?
Alarms are electronic devices that detect unauthorized entry into a property. They come in various types, such as motion sensors, door contacts, window contacts, and glass break detectors. When an alarm is triggered, it emits a loud noise that alerts the property owner or monitoring center of potential danger.
On the other hand, Alarm and cctv fitting (Closed Circuit Television) systems consist of cameras strategically placed around a property to capture footage of any activities taking place. These cameras can be viewed remotely on multiple devices such as smartphones or laptops with internet connectivity. Having Alarm and cctv fitting installed can help deter criminal activity while also providing valuable evidence should an incident occur.

The system is monitored by a central station, which will contact the authorities if an alarm goes off. Another option is an unmonitored system, which doesn’t involve any outside monitoring but will still sound an alarm if triggered.

Routine maintenance includes lubricating the lock components to prevent rust and corrosion buildup and checking for wear and tear on the keys and lock mechanisms.

During this time, they will learn practical skills such as how to pick locks and make keys. Additionally, they will also learn about the various types of security systems available on the market and how they work.
In addition to apprenticeship programs, there are also trade schools that offer locksmith training courses. These courses cover topics such as key cutting techniques, lock installation procedures, and safe cracking methods.
