Phoned Andy in the morning as we had a dodgy lock on the front door. Came out the same day, very friendly and had all the parts to fix the issue the same day.

Brilliant service! Needed a lock replaced after a snapped key in a French door. Andy was here less than an hour after my call. He also fixed and tightened the doors making them more efficient. Thanks so much! Highly recommend.

Andy responded quickly to our message and arrived when he said he would on Sunday to try to fix our door. Due to age and trickiness (we have had a few people to tend to it over the years)he had to return today. He arrived at the time he said he would and persevered patiently with our tricky door, replacing the lock mechanism and working on the door so that it opens better now than when it was first fitted a good few years ago. He was polite, profressional and clearly had a lot of knowledge. I definitely recommend him.

Home Safes

Home safes are vital for providing security and peace of mind in any household. These safes are designed to keep valuable items such as jewelry, important documents, and digital media protected from various potential threats like theft, fire, or natural disasters. With the rise of home break-ins and unforeseen events like fires and floods, the need for a secure storage solution has become increasingly important. A safe can safeguard possessions that are irreplaceable or difficult to replace, making it an essential investment for those who prioritize safety.

While many homeowners assume that all safes are the same, there are significant differences in the type, security features, and protection offered by different models. Whether you need a safe to protect your family heirlooms or a place to keep your financial documents secure, choosing the right one is critical. Understanding what you need from a safe will ensure you make an informed decision about the best way to protect your most valuable belongings.

SAFE FITTING

Types of Home Safes

There are several types of home safes, each offering varying degrees of protection based on the risks they are designed to mitigate. A fireproof safe is one of the most common types of home safes. These safes are built to withstand high temperatures, protecting the contents inside from being damaged by fire. They are often rated for different lengths of time, with some models capable of resisting fire for up to two hours or more. Fireproof safes are ideal for storing essential documents like passports, legal papers, and other records that could be difficult or impossible to replace.

Another common type is a burglary-resistant safe. These safes are engineered with features that protect against forced entry, such as thick steel walls and advanced locking mechanisms. Many of these models come with heavy-duty locks like combination dials, electronic keypads, or biometric fingerprint scanners. For people living in areas with high crime rates, a burglary-resistant safe provides added protection against break-ins and theft. Many of these safes also come with waterproof features, making them even more versatile in terms of protecting your valuables from flooding or water damage.

Choosing the Right Safe for Your Needs

Selecting the right safe depends largely on your personal requirements and what you need to protect. For example, if you’re storing important documents like birth certificates, insurance policies, or financial papers, a fireproof safe is ideal for keeping those items intact in case of a fire. However, if you also need to protect your digital media, such as hard drives or USB drives, you may want a fireproof safe with additional features like temperature control to prevent overheating and data loss.

Safe Fitting in Leeds

Additionally, it’s important to assess the space available in your home and the amount of storage you require. Safes come in various sizes, from compact models that can fit in a drawer or closet to larger ones that can store multiple items. Consider where you plan to place the safe in your home, as some safes are designed to be discreet, while others are more noticeable. Larger safes may need to be bolted to the floor or hidden within walls to maximize security, depending on the level of protection you’re seeking.

Factors to Consider Before Buying a Safe

When purchasing a home safe, several factors should be considered to ensure you’re getting the best option for your needs. One important aspect is the safe’s security rating. Different safes come with various protection levels, and it’s important to choose one with the appropriate rating for your items. For example, a safe rated for high-level burglary protection might be necessary if you have expensive jewelry, while a fire-resistant model may suffice for storing documents. The higher the rating, the more secure the safe is against specific threats like fire, water, or burglary.

NEW SAFE INSTALLED

Another crucial factor to consider is the type of lock mechanism. Safes are available with different locking systems, such as combination locks, digital keypads, or biometric fingerprint scanners. Each lock type has its advantages and drawbacks, so it’s important to choose one that fits your lifestyle and security preferences. For instance, combination locks might offer a traditional, reliable solution, while a biometric lock could provide quicker access and a higher level of convenience for some users.

The safe’s size
Safes can vary greatly in size, and the size can play a significant role in the price of a safe. This is because larger safes may require more specialized equipment and techniques to be installed safely. Because the weight of larger safes is usually much greater than that of smaller ones, it takes an increased amount of effort to position a safe properly inside a building with the help of additional tools and manpower. A large safe will also have thicker walls, doors, and other components, which can make working with them during the installation phase much more difficult than with smaller safes.

Materials used in construction
In addition to the type of materials used in its construction, a safe’s cost can also be affected by the special features or functions that are included in it, as well as the number of locks used. A lock or security feature that is being installed may also result in an increase in the installation cost if the tools or expertise required to install the lock or security feature is specialized – specialized tools or expertise are required to install biometric scanners or fireproofing systems, for instance.

Burglary and fire resistance
Aside from the size of the safe, another factor that can determine the cost of installing one is the level of fire and burglary resistance of the safe. Safes that are made to last for a long time under intense heat and/or powerful force are generally more expensive than basic, lower-end models that are designed to withstand shorter periods of heat and force. The overall cost of the installation of some safety features, like reinforced walls and secure locking mechanisms, can also increase.

Do you worry about the safety of valuable items in your house or business? We can help you fit your safe.

Having a safe gives you an extra level of security and peace of mind. When it comes to safe fitting in Leeds we will advise you on the best type of safe to get for your needs. We can also fit your safe in out of sight locations for extra security. There are many different types of safes available for installations such as ones with a key lock or ones with a digital lock for people who have a habit of loosing their safe keys. There are also more recent smarter safe options such as finger print locks or even dual locks which require two people to open the safe at the same time. All of our saves meet the British standards EN1143 and EN14450.
