Andy responded quickly to our message and arrived when he said he would on Sunday to try to fix our door. Due to age and trickiness (we have had a few people to tend to it over the years)he had to return today. He arrived at the time he said he would and persevered patiently with our tricky door, replacing the lock mechanism and working on the door so that it opens better now than when it was first fitted a good few years ago. He was polite, profressional and clearly had a lot of knowledge. I definitely recommend him.

Reasons for Locking: Security, Privacy

Locksmiths are professionals who specialize in installing, repairing and maintaining locks. They offer a range of services that cater to both residential and commercial clients. One of the most common types of locks that locksmiths install is the Lost Key Slam Lock. These locks are designed to automatically lock when they are shut, making them ideal for doors that require quick access control.

There are many reasons why people opt to have Lost Key Slam Lock installed on their properties. For one, they provide an extra layer of security against intruders. Since these locks automatically engage when the door is shut, it makes it difficult for anyone to enter your property without permission. Additionally, they can help prevent unauthorized access by restricting entry only to those with keys or authorized access codes. Furthermore, slam locks can be useful in situations where you need to secure your property quickly or where time is of the essence.

Types of Slam Locks: Manual, Electronic

Lost Key Slam Lock are a popular type of lock that provides quick and easy security for various applications. They are designed to lock the door automatically when it is slammed shut, which eliminates the need for keys or extra hardware. Slam locks come in two main types: manual and electronic, each with its unique features.

Manual Lost Key Slam Lock are a traditional type of Lost Key Slam Lock that uses mechanical components to operate. They are simple to install and operate, making them an excellent choice for many different types of doors. Manual slam locks can be used on internal and external doors such as cabinets, sheds, gates, garage doors, and more.

How to Open Without a Key: Pick, Hammer

Are you locked out of your house and can’t find your key? Don’t panic, there are ways to open a door without a key. Two popular methods are picking the lock or using a hammer. Picking the lock requires some skill and patience. You’ll need a set of lock picks which can be purchased online or at hardware stores.

Insert the tension wrench into the bottom of the lock and apply pressure in the direction you would turn the key. Then insert the pick into each pin slot and push up until all pins align with the shear line, allowing you to turn the knob. If you don’t have any lock picks, another option is using a hammer. This method may cause damage to your door or frame so it should only be used if necessary.

How to Replace a Lost Key: Rekey, Replace Lock

Losing a key can be frustrating and inconvenient, but there are ways to replace it. Two common options are rekeying the lock or replacing it entirely. Rekeying involves changing the internal pins and tumblers of the lock so that it works with a new key. This is often less expensive than replacing the entire lock and can be done by a locksmith.

Replacing a lock is more expensive but may be necessary if the lock is damaged or old. Before purchasing a new lock, make sure to measure the size and type of your current one to ensure that you buy the correct replacement. It’s also important to consider whether you want a traditional key-and-lock system or an electronic keypad.

If you’re not sure which option is best for your situation, consult with a professional locksmith who can assess your needs and provide recommendations based on your budget and security concerns.
